Abstract

A numerical simulation of an SF6 tracer experiment conducted on July 19, 1985, in North Dakota has been made. Both SF6 and Agl seeding are simulated in the model, although not concurrently. Only one seeding agent is simulated in a particular run of the model. The numerical experiments show that the SF6 and Agl will disperse in a similar fashion initially but, as the Agl is activated inside the cloud, there will be some differences. The development of detectable ice and precipitation as a result of Agl seeding will likely diverge somewhat from the SF6 dispersion.
