Abstract

Hail occurs within a 90-mile radius of Red Deer on an average of 61 days between 15 May and 15 September. A summary is reported by months of various hail parameters. The season reaches its peak in July when the probability of a hailday is at a maximum of 66%. The probability gradually falls off in August and by September the  season effectively is over. On the average very few haildays occur  in May or in September, with most of the hail activity concentrated between June and August.....
