Abstract

Previous weather modification efforts and programs conducted in Oklahoma and other Great Plains states have demonstrated considerable promise. Results from these programs, combined with the severe socio-economic impacts suffered by Oklahoma during the drought of 1995-96, prompted the state to enact and develop a weather modification program. Preliminary results from Phase I of the program appear promising, although independent evaluation of the program will not be complete until conclusion of Phase II in the spring of 1997.
